The best part of my job is helping patients return to activities, occupations, sports and hobbies they love. My patients have diverse goals, ranging from returning to work, playing with their grandkids to performing their sport at an elite level. No matter what your particular goal is, I am here to help you achieve it.

MY APPROACH TO CARE

FIRST VISIT

During your first visit, we will discuss your concerns and begin working towards an accurate diagnosis. Some patients arrive with a previous diagnosis and workup, but oftentimes, we will work together to determine what is generating your symptoms. The first steps are discussing the history of your symptoms, performing a physical examination and often obtaining radiographs (x-rays). When advanced imaging is required (MRI, CT, etc.) we will walk you through the process of obtaining the scan in an expedited manner and we will have another discussion to review the results.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

Once your diagnosis is known, the next step is having a detailed discussion to explain your injury or condition and introduce the various treatment options.

When possible, non-surgical treatment methods are always attempted before considering an operation. With most musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, conservative treatments including activity modification, anti-inflammatory oral medication and physical therapy are sufficient at relieving symptoms. When these methods do not work, corticosteroid injections and other non-operative therapies may be considered.

OPERATIVE INTERVENTION

In some clinical scenarios, however, surgery is recommended. These are situations where non-surgical treatments have failed to relieve your symptoms or if delaying surgery is detrimental to your future outcome.

In these circumstances, we will discuss all your available options and select the procedure that best aligns with your goals. Once you elect to undergo an operation, it is my job to guide you through the pre-operative period, the procedure and the post-operative rehabilitation process. As a team, we will strive to achieve the best possible outcome.
